Welcome back to Setter Stage! This week, we have basketball forward Brittany Huggins, a junior Political Science major.
EB: Where are you from and what high school did you go to?
BH: I'm from Windsor, Connecticut. I played for Windsor High School; we were the Warriors.
EB: When and why did you start playing basketball?
BH: I started playing in the 3rd grade. My brothers played and thought it was fun, so I had to do it.
EB: Who inspired you to play basketball?
BH: I wouldn't say anyone inspired me. I thought it was a fun sport to play and after that my dad encouraged me.
EB: Were you interested in any other sports?
BH: No, not really - just basketball.
EB: Your position is forward. Did you play that position in high school?
BH: I was more of a swing player. I played in the 3 spot, which are guard/ forward.
EB: Now that you're a junior, is there anything you miss about playing in high school?
BH: Yes, I think high school was fun because of the competition between friends and our rivals from different schools. It doesn't get any better than high school.
EB: What has been your all time favorite moment in playing basketball?
BH: When I hit the game winning shot junior year of high school versus New Britain High School.
EB: Your team has an eight game winning streak after beating Assumption, how do you feel about that?
BH: Very good! We are playing very well right now. I'm excited to see how playoffs go.
EB: Where does this put you in the conference now?
BH: We are tied for second with Bentley.
EB: Is there anything you would change about the way you played this season?
BH: Losing to Felician. Otherwise we are playing very well.
EB: What's the story behind playing Felician?
BH: (Laughing) My coach will know when she reads this...
EB: You're going to be a senior next year, any goals you have?
