Welcome to the first Setter Stage of Spring semester! This edition, we bring Delroy Daley into the spotlight. Daley, a sophomore business management major, is a member of the Setter's men's basketball team.
EB: So Delroy, when and why did you start playing basketball?
DD: I started playing when I was 13 and I started playing ball because I thought I should use my height to my advantage.
EB: How tall are you?
DD: I'm about 6'5"
EB: Who inspired you to play basketball?
DD: My 1st basketball coach because he thought I wasn't going to be any good and I wanted to prove him wrong.
EB: Aw! You definitely proved him wrong. Did you play any other sports?
DD: Nah, I wasn't really interested in any other sports.
EB: What is your opinion on your basketball season so far?
DD: I feel even though we have 3 seniors, we are still pretty young but loaded with talent. We should pick up again on a good track and be a presence come playoff time.
EB: What are your expectations for you or the team?
DD: I expect my team to play hard and always leave it on the court and I expect myself to always give it my all.
EB: Did you choose to play your position or did your coach choose it for you?
DD: My coach chose it for me.
EB: Has 21 always been your jersey number? If not, what was it? And if it was, then what made you pick your number?
DD: No it wasn't my number. It used to be 44, but I prefer 21.
EB: Do you have a routine or ritual before every game?
DD: Yea, I always act like I'm drumming when I listen to songs.
EB: Ha-ha, do you really do that?!
DD: Yes, I swear! I know, funny right?
EB: Very funny! So, I heard from a little birdie you wanted to play on Pace's football team? Is that true? And if it is, what made you come to that decision?
DD: Yeah, that's true. I just feel that I am capable to play the sport and be good at it. You never know until you try.
